On a Mission: Valentine’s Day Parent’s Night Out Fundraiser

Hey everyone!

Have I told you how awesome my husband is lately?  Guess what he suggested we do for Valentine’s Day this year.  Go head, guess.

*Pauses to give everyone a chance to think*

He decided it would be a great idea to pull together as a couple and spend the evening working toward Haiti!  I was very excited that he came up with that because, truth be told, it is a sacrifice for him to entertain little ones.  He knows it is right up my ally so it means a lot to me that he would want to do that.  🙂  Because it will be Valentine’s Day, it is possible we could get more families who wish to bring their kids that we are able to handle so we have arranged for others who are going on this trip with us to join us.  We will be splitting the pot by the number of people going so that everyone gets pay for their efforts.

While with the kiddos, we plan to organize a craft table where the toddlers and older kids can make a Valentine themed craft to take home at the end of the night.  Though I haven’t fully decided what to make, I am sure it will be a hit.  When we kept the pastoral kids for the Christmas party, we made reindeer with the kid’s feet and hands and turned them into ornaments.  This time I am thinking maybe heart people with accordion-style arms and legs.  Who knows.

We will be accepting kids from 5:30 – 9:00 pm that night at Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester.  Please be sure to either feed your little ones before you drop them off or send them with a sack lunch.  The church will be locked during the event so make sure you get my phone number so you can text me when you arrive at the end of the night.  I will meet you at the door to open it so that everyone stays safe all night long.
